Call of the Summer I

I was readied that bonfire for the Winter Solstice (21. 12) but it was truly cold night and I failed to get company even I tried to bride people with hot cocoa (Image that horror! Even that didn't work! Stars surely weren't right that night...) but no avail.

However, that time I weren't aware real importance of Breaking of Winter's Back (Thermal Solstice; counted to be on 26. 1.) in Finnish (pagan) tradition. I learned that we haven't had real party for Winter Solstice like most of others, it didn't matter how long sun shined each day if weather got only colder and colder. Only after one had survived the worst frosts winter had offer it was time to party.

I managed to get burning that bonfire somehwere middle between those two dates and even that time it weren't easy task to pull out. Bonfire was middle of forest and everything had got 2 or 3 feet high snow cover, including bonfire itself. But once lit, it was really beautiful against cover of darkness.

I wished I could have had my robes for some extra photos but dragging anything extra there would have be insine. Another time... Another time will come...
